Years ago I tried unsuccessfully to photograph old structures in a non-documentary style. Several years ago I tried again and had moderate success. I decided to try again.
After an absence from doing photography on a regular basis I decided to do a-picture-a-day-for-a-year project. As a direction I am attempting to use modern images where possible to relate times in my photographic past. As I am no longer a spring chicken, I can get philosophical some times. As a Christian I often see God possibly using me and my photography to send short messages. I hope you enjoy these images as much as I have enjoyed making them around Monroe, NC. TheElmo

I had the pleasure of meeting Elmo while he was finishing up photographing the old so called barn. We have hunted this old home place for many years and use to park our trucks in front of the so called barn for many years. It was a pleasure to talk to Elmo and let him know the old barn is not actually a barn. This structure was actually a general store / post office many many years ago. Elmo if you are reading this I am not sure about cleaning all the growth up around the burned house but we will get to it soon and you can get the photos of the old log corn crib and shed. Pleasure talking to you... Danny
