I cannot believe two post in one day and only three in all of last month, but that is being country.
After an absence from doing photography on a regular basis I decided to do a-picture-a-day-for-a-year project. As a direction I am attempting to use modern images where possible to relate times in my photographic past. As I am no longer a spring chicken, I can get philosophical some times. As a Christian I often see God possibly using me and my photography to send short messages. I hope you enjoy these images as much as I have enjoyed making them around Monroe, NC. TheElmo

Again... neat.
ReplyDeleteThere is a father and son team who live near Western Union School that own old Farmall tractors. Each year at the Christmas and July 4th Parade, they drive each of their tractors from home to downtown Waxhaw and show them off. Each tractor remains in its rustic beauty just as it was when in the fields years ago. ...none of that new custom paint job(s) for those guys. They each tell the story like is "really" is/was. I always enjoyed seeing them stuck in between the lustrous shine of the brightly painted John Deeres.
I wonder if the guy you photographed is one of them? Thanks for the post. As I sit here all alone, it reminds me of all the times me and the family were able to attend the parades as a "whole" as I held the kids in my arms with momma close by as I pointed to the tractors and the kids oooo'd and awwww'd. Great times. Your pictures always seem to touch me at a time that I need it the most; however mundane or ordinary they may seem at first glance. Thanks - you're a great friend. S
